UNBELIEVABLE: WATCH What Happens After Tesla Autopilot Predicts An Accident

I have to get my hands on technology like this!

No wonder this Tesla autopilot technology has gotten more than a million views in less than one day. The Tesla “semi-autonomous” Autopilot truly is amazing!

Tesla’s CEO, Elon Musk, has said that Autopilot can reduce accidents by as m much as 50%. The system is not totally autonomous as it requires a human to pay attention at all times. If you are like me, you are wondering how the system works?

The Tesla Autopilot system has multiple sensors placed all around the car. The car is designed to use these sensors for constant situational awareness, keeping it in tune with its environment so that it can safe steer itself in most highway situations.

It has a forward radar, a forward-looking camera, a high-precision digitally-controlled electric braking system, and 12 long-range ultrasonic sensors all around the vehicle. The sensors can sense what is happening 16 feet around the car in every direction, at any speed.

When the car senses that something is too close, it can determine the best distance to take action, like change lanes. It is true that debris could cover a sensor, causing it to malfunction.

The radar, of course, detects other cars. The forward-facing camera is at the top of the windshield and has a computer inside that defines obstacles that are ahead of the car. The camera enables the car to detect other cars, pedestrians, lane markings, and even road signs. The car uses all of this information to drive itself.

Teslas can all self-park, even self-parrallel park in perpendicular spots. Their owners can even summon them like a dog!

How well does the autopilot system work? Here is one great example:

The video had been deleted, so here is another version, just in case the one above is pulled as well:
